Plastic Fantastic...

Furla

So I realise this bag kinda looks like Barbies "most favouritest bag ever" but what can I tell ya?! I think Barbies got style!! Right now I'm love love loving the neon trend - words I never thought I would say believe me but aw somehow... when its done right - and possibly even more than that the whole plastic fantastic trend that simply refuses to fade away - Aw, more words I thought I'd never utter - Point is I too was a big ole disbeliever but this post is here to change your mind, convince you that life in plastic is indeed fantastic oh and to clear my fashion conscience!! If not one of the pieces featured here tickles your tastebuds I promise I shall slink away in shame fuzzy tail between my legs...

Crazy About the Dress...!

Words cannot describe just how much I love this colour blocking lacy wonder from ASOS which is now, after whats felt like an eternity, finally available for purchase! While admittedly a whole lotta trend for one little dress I have to say this works...! Whenever a print is as directional (read crazy) as this its good to keep things classic fit wise and the classic sheath shape complete with round neck and knee length cut makes this particular piece totally wearable for even the most print shy among us... Given the sheer amount of trends this dress tackles I'd say 73euro makes it one serious bargain...

Gwyneth Paltrow...

Aw Gwyneth... What can I say?! Girl has me hooked! In fact I'm not sure what I love more her obvious acting chops or her style which has evolved so much over the years and oh lordy are we thankful. Of course not many of us are blessed with Miss Paltrows body or rather the determination it takes to achieve such a body but we can get in on her super stylee action by nabbing this super affordable blazer from Zara and maybe even splashing out on these gorgeous pumps from Stuart Weitzman which also rock the double trend mixing both pastels and metal accents! By the by its well worth checking out the black and white version of these pumps especially if you're after something a little more neutral as they are truly delectable...!!!

The Summer Sandal....

You know how every single summer you find yourself obsessing over the perfect sandal?! One that will make you feel amazing each and every time you put it on and somehow make up for the fact that you were just too plain lazy to wear heels to dinner?! Well feast your eyes peeps because here they are!! Look, look, up there!! Inspired by ancient Greek God, Hermes these super cute, super playful  metallic sandals are an absolute must have!! To get your hands on a pair and up your summer fashion ante simply click here!!

Cirque du Soleil...

Cirque du Soleil, what an amazing show!! I was just lucky enough to catch one of the few performances in Dublins O2 theatre and I have to say I was blown away. Offering a combination of music, comedy and astounding physical feats there is quite literally something for everyone! Oddly enough, despite all there is to see I found myself fixated on both the make up and the costumes - it really is amazing just how much drama can be achieved through the use of colour - and I do believe I shall be trying to come up with a way to work a little bit of both into my everyday style. Of course I wont be going too mad and sporting a bunch of crazy wigs (though I admit it sounds appealing) suffice it to say I shall be wearing a lot a lot more purple and green...! If ever you're in need of some inspiration or maybe even some feel good "yes I bloody well can" then I suggest getting thee to a this, the most amazing show on earth!!

A Curious Affair...

Topshop

So I can only imagine I'm on my own here... And worse still perhaps even the subject of much criticism but I have to confess... This dress intrigues me... Intrigues me it does... Now I'm not sure I'd wear it myself but I'd like to think/drunkenly fantasise that I could pull it off in that almost ironic kinda way that only the coolest of gals can... Sigh... Anyways, what say you fashion folksters?!

The Bag Show...

I don't know why exactly but it seems I will never run out of shockingly expensive things to lust after... Currently, I'm obsessing over Irish designer Pauric Sweeneys hot pink python shoulder bag... And while its hard to believe I have to tell you that this picture does not do this bag justice...  at all... In reality its actually a glowing heavenly beacon of... Ok ok you get the picture, but if you also want to get the bag just pop into Brown Thomas Dublin or simply click here... Buyers be warned... A rather short girl may one day run away with your precious hold all, laughing maniacally all the way down the street...

Its A Slippery Slope...!

You Too Can Do... The Slipper Trend...

May I introduce to you... The super shoe... Yep folks the slipper has it all... comfort, day to night appeal and some serious fashion kudos... Which are believe it or not just a few of the reasons why a whole host of starlets have been seen wearing them, including fashion favourite Olivia Palermo and Americas sweetheart Miss Taylor Swift... Unfortunately for us mere mortals we don't have stylists to tell us the Do's and Dont's of the slipper trend so its pretty easy to go ever so slightly awry with this one... Aw but never fear for I'm here and both ready and willing to impart some knowledge... Some... Ahem... First off, though I'm sure this doesn't need to be said, sweat pants of any description are simply not allowed within five miles of the slipper... Neither are the pyjama pants just about every celebrity is sporting these days... Unless of course its your mission in life to emulate one Hugh Hefner (who knows, stranger things have happened!) Instead make like Miss Palermo and team with a pair of slim cut jeans or perhaps even some cigarette pants... The look you're ultimately going for is polished prepster (which sounds bad but truly its not) If you look like one of those girls who rolled out of bed dying with a hangover who thought she could get away with nipping to the local grocery store for some milk (you know who you are!) Well then something terrible has happened somewhere along the way...
For those of you who wish to attempt this trend but dont want to splurge on a pair of those Louboutin Rollergirls I've been salivating over then check out these more wallet friendly options available at Toppers or perhaps even these for a much softer much brighter look...!

Wild Nature...

Lately it seems theres no end in sight for the much loved designer collaboration, with the latest seeing two beloved institutions brought together; Liberty of London and Dr.Martens! In the 1980s DMs fans would hand paint floral patterns onto their boots which in turn inspired the company to develop their own specially printed leathers but now for the first time ever the tough leather pieces DMs are so famous for (including the traditional 8-hole and 3-hole Dr. Martens boots, the recently introduced Kensington and Desert Style boots, and their gorgeous satchels, pictured above) will be fused with the traditionally soft and delicate patterns of print masters Liberty! The theme of the collection is ‘Wild Nature’ which is essentially said to be "a celebration of the refined beauty of the flora used in Liberty print juxtaposed with the rebellious ethos of Dr. Martens..."  Nice to see a collection title make sense every so often...
The collection launches both in store and online 1st May.

Gossimar Wings...

I recently stumbled across the little known online jewellery boutique that is GossimarWings and have been enthralled by its beauty ever since... At GossimarWings you can find all sorts of treasures, whether you're looking for a necklace that really makes a statement such as this, a quirky brooch inspired by Lewis Carrolls Alice in Wonderland including my personal favourite which you can see here or even some dainty earrings such as these! Each piece is lovingly handcrafted often using  antique/vintage materials meaning many are actually complete one-offs which makes your choice all the more special and lets face it offers some extra bragging rights when your inevitably asked where you got your beautiful piece. Further adding to the magic many of their offerings have been gilded with gold leaf for that little something extra... If, however, you have a particular vision in mind the folks at Gossimars would be more than happy to help you bring it to life with your very own custom order... See, there really is something for everyone.

Zaras Fantasy Blazer...

Studded Fantasy Fabric Blazer
Ok so I realise that coming in at E119 this blazer doesn't exactly qualify as bargain of the year but after seeing it this weekend I simply had to snap it up... Especially when I realised that there was only one left in the entire store and it just so happened to be my size (an occurence I always interpret as a sign from God) I've always loved Zara for turning out gorgeous pieces that just do not look high street and this is yet another beautiful piece that looks waaay more expensive than it actually is... Plus given its versatility and the fact that I will not be taking it off... Ever... the cost per wear really isn't so bad...
xx

Pop....

Not so long ago I was telling y'all that neon is actually not that hard a trend to rock (to check out that post simply click here) Well above is living proof in the form of  Madewells (one of my all time favorite stores) Bridget Cardigan... Invest in this showstopper and you wont even have to think twice before tackling the flourescent trend... This cardi will do all the hard work for you... Be warned however, neither the body nor the hair are included! Sob!

Knowles Knows...

At this point Im pretty much beginning to hate myself and my captions... But then my appetite for all things cheesy always was insatiable...

After her appearance at the opening of Splendids new store in Soho I decided I simply couldn't resist any longer and had to add Solange Knowles (Beyonces lil' sis) to my list of style icons, though lets face it she pretty much ensured herself a place on that list when she was seen wearing this -essentially a masterclass in mixing prints! Anyhoos, the DJ's mix of the high and the low with her basic white tee and her lacy skirt complete with thigh high slit is one of the most refreshing outfits I've seen in quite some time now... I truly admire Solanges talent for mixing and matching pieces that you would be forgiven for thinking should not be seen within 5 miles of one another... This really is a gal who loves to have fun with fashion rather than take herself overly seriously and thats what makes even her kookiest of looks work every time...

DVF loves Current Elliott...

I'm so excited that the new DVF/Current Elliott collaboration is finally available to purchase... Above are just some of my favourite looks in the collection including my very favourite, the wrap dress (centre) In terms of fashion the wrap dress and indeed denim are about as classic as you can get so it truly amazes me how the combination of both can look both so directional and so timeless all at once... Methinks this is one dress worth every penny of its $398 price tag... For those of you wanting to know where you can get your hands on it I'm super happy to tell you it can be found on one of my favourite shopping sites, Shopbop!

Sales Ahoy

So thanks to my ever lingering Ye Olde Technology curse this post is less the calming sale alert I had hoped for and more a move beetch before its too late kinds thang... But nevertheless its important to know when we are in the midst of a sale... Especially when it comes to ruler of the high street; Topshop... So get your elbows at the ready ladies, or if you're not quite up to the fight then perhaps your clicking fingers and check out the amazing bargains such as this, this and of course this vintage looking beauty which are just a few of my personal favourites....

Pradas Shoes are Smokin'.... Literally...!

No folks... your eyes are not deceiving you... Yes we've already had the smoking slipper and indeed the smoking jacket but above is the worlds first actual smoking shoe...  Sure smokings a less than wonderful habit but if theres anyone that could make it high fashion its the folks at Prada... Although not exactly my personal taste I can guarantee you that these are gonna sell out faster than you can say "what the f-bomb" If you simply cant live without them (and have about 720euro) then click here for a chance to get your hands on a pair...
By the by, do invest in the mani-pedi as there will be many... many stares...

Throwing a Wobbly....

If ever there were a movie character I resembled it would be little miss Veruca Salt... Generally this is because when I want something... Well I want it now... And I simply never care how... But the past coupla days I've been throwing numerous tantrums due to technology once again letting me down... I've had a bunch of posts prepared for some time now but today is the first day I've actually been able to post them so whilst they may be a little later than I'd like I say better late than never... I do hope you enjoy...

Lulu Guinness for Uniqlo...

Uniqlo... A store almost more famous for its chic collaborations with some of the hottest designers around than its truly essential, truly inspired range of separates... The most recent addition to that list of hot-shot designers?! Miss Lulu Guinness... Known for her quirky accessories Guinness has joined forces with the Japanese powerhouse that is Uniqlo to come up with a collection of fresh, fun and surprisingly sophisticated t-shirts...  Pictured above are just some of my favourites in the collection... Black, navy and grey... What can I say its my colour palette of choice... Anyways folks... Move fast... These collaborations dont hang around for long and hey we all know the joy of getting a little something something designer for cheap... Hehe...
xx

Lady in Stripes...

Aubin&Wills

I'm a lady who loves her some stripes... No matter the colour (well... almost) they're versatile, super easy to wear (I guess that ties in with the versatile) effortlessly chic (And I guess that ties in with the easy to wear... I'm not doing great here am I? Ahem!) But seriously the point is stripes rock and the lightweight silk of this particular shirt truly elevates this nautical inspired piece making it appropriate for the most casual and indeed the most snazziest (can you believe I have a masters in this language?!) of occasions... Dress down with a pair of your skinniest jeans or up with a skirt and some heels... Either way you can rest assured... Stripes have never let a gal down...

The Conscious Collection...

It's official H&M's exclusive Conscious Collection is amaze-balls... Not only are the dresses made from sustainable materials but each and every one is an absolute show-stopper... Pictured above is one of my personal favourites within the entire collection... The fit, the pattern?! One could actually mistake this for a Dolce&Gabbana piece... High praise I realise but well deserved doncha think?! And hey if Michelle Williams can don one such dress for the BAFTA's?! Well thats good enough for me...
xx

Sparkle...

Here at Your Ethereal Feast headquarters also known as Miss Daisys living room we love Olivia Palermo... Not only is it rare for the starlet to put a fashion foot wrong but the gal is a champion of the great British high street meaning her style is accesible to those of us who dont rake in quite so big of bucks... Pictured (above) Olivia is seen at the after party for the premiere of HBO’s newest series Girls (a slightly more realistic Sex & the City) wearing a sequined French Connection jacket paired with skinny jeans that show off her enviably long legs and a crisp white shirt... Effortlessly stylish Olivia lets the jacket do the talking and makes casual look crazy chic... Of course this uber-sparkly number would also look great teamed with a cocktail dress and your most treacherous of heels... If you want to get your hands on this gorgeous jacket and steal Olivias style simply click here...

Sheer Delight...

Oh lordy... I do love me a cheese-tastic title... As a wise mascot once said "it aint easy being cheesy" (Chester Cheetah)

If anyone can rock a risque mesh jumpsuit it's powerhouse Gwen Stefani. The singer/designer rocked up to the premiere of legendary musician Sir Paul McCartneys My Valentine music video hosted at his daughter Stella McCartney's L.A. boutique wearing a sheer panelled jumpsuit from Miss McCartneys iconic Fall 2011 collection... Perhaps aware that she was already attacking multiple trends at once (both sheer and peplum... kudos by the way) Gwen kept things both simple and chic by adding minimal accessories such as the studded clutch and the patent leather Louboutins... The singers ruby red lips and nails offered just the right amount of colour to allow her ensemble to truly pop... Not to mention she somehow managed to make her messy top not look less "post-gym" and more "red-carpet-ready" than any other woman I can imagine... Let this be a lesson to all of us!!
xx

Le Classique...

I had one crazy strong urge to call this post "don't trench me in" but luckily I managed to resist... But enough about my urges... ahem... This fabulous sleeveless trench from US store Forever 21 has landed itself a coveted position on my bargain du jour hit-list... I could of course rattle off oh a hundred and one reasons why this is a must have but I do believe the pic speaks for itself... I mean every gal needs to bag herself a classic trench and what season is fast approaching?! Oh thats right summer!! Just imagine the impact this jacket is undoubtedly going to have when paired with a striped breton tee, a fabulously fitted pair of jeans and some oh-so-chic flats... Pared down perfection!!

Bright Spark...

You Too Can Do... Neon...

Jason Wu Runway Look
As tricky as it seems there is in fact a way to buy into this seasons hot trend, neon, without looking like some ridiculous 80's throwback... For me two designers in particular have recently proved that neon can actually be both fun and sophisticated... but only when done right... Michael Kors and Jason Wu... When it comes to neon the real trick is not to be afraid which is I realise easier said than done but honestly a little bit of courage goes a long way when attacking this trend... It really is one that requires commitment... Equally as important?! Keeping black accessories to a minimum! Believe me they will only make you look like a grungey fashion victim of the 80's... Never good... Love her or hate her Jennifer Lopez has obviously been studying the runways of late and has since been working the neon trend better than anyone... So take a leaf out of her book and wear these intense colours with wildly chicabandon....

Lopez in Michael Kors

Of course if you really think you can't handle the flourescent then how about slipping in just a little neon by adding say a flourescent pink belt to a tan sheath dress, or pairing a punchy necklace with a simple white t-shirt?! Or perhaps you could invest in a neon bra and allow the strap to peek out from under a boatneck top?! Offering just a teeny hint of your inner wild cat! Where theres a will theres a way...

Below are some of my favourite flourescent add-ons...

From L-R
Shopbop, Adia Kibur Short Neon Stone Necklace
Madewell, Belle by Sigerson Morrison Randy Neon Sandals
Kate Spade, Kate Spade Thin Bow Belt

Zodiac...

Aquarius

I am quite literally obsessed with these gorgeous zodiac necklaces from designer Amy Zerner... Not only are they beautifully crafted with the most gorgeous astrological imagery etched into their gold vermeil but I just can't resist jewellery that carries with it even the slightest hint of the personal... Plus if ever you're stuck for some birthday gift inspiration these little beauties are godsends... Why not check out Zerners complete atrological range which you can do simply by clicking here!

Happy Birthday To Me...

I've only just realised that today is officially my blog's first birthday... Well not exactly it's first birthday but rather it's first official landmark... Today Friday the 13th of April my little labour of love is officially one month old... I think I'm going to consider the whole Friday the 13th thing lucky and just ignore the dark cloud that typically surrounds the date... Eheh... Yeah...
I would also like to say a big thank you to all of those who take the time to visit the site and allow me to ramble on most every day...

Coachella & Co.

Its that time of year again ladies... Yep... Its festival time... Of course nowadays people seem to care just that little bit more what everyones wearing off stage rather than what the performers are doing onstage... So in honour of festival season and indeed one of my favourite Coachella devotees, Isabel Lucas (pictured above) I thought I'd dedicate a post entirely to some of my favourite festival ready pieces out there... All of which I chose with the fashion savvy Isabel in mind... Incidentally each piece is available from one of my favourite sites Shopbop
