Gaga... Before And After...!

Y'all remember Lady Gagas cover for American Vogues September issue (above) yes?! Well today the star has found herself at the heart of yet another major controversy as the unedited read original, non photoshopped images of her have just been released...

Many are of course slamming the publication for publishing a shot that is completely different to the original whilst others are criticising Gaga herself for even taking part in such a thing...
While I don't agree with the amount of photoshopping these days as it creates impossible standards that girls feel the need to adhere to (and I'll leave it at that because I could go on for waaay too long here!) I'm ever so slightly torn on this one... Is Vogue doing the wrong thing by "perfecting" people here or is it more an issue of artistic license? After all it's not just Gaga they changed it's the entire image... Check out the photos and you'll notice that the dress doesn't even look the same (colour wise etc!)

Lemme know what you guys think...

The Iris Apfel Interview Is Coming...!

Iris Apfel; Fashion Icon. Accessories Queen. Entreprenuer... and that's just the beginning. Iris Apfel is fashion by which I mean she takes the word and transforms it into a living, breathing, tangible thing. Her fashion is brave, bold and 100%  her! In short she's a reminder (for us all) of what fashion really should stand for and now, after all these years, she has a documentary coming out that is taking a closer look at her life and the ways in which she has participated in the creative world. At 91 Apfel is still making waves in the fashion world in fact she may just possess more style and creativity than any of us mere mortals could ever wish to, yet she's preaching that all of us can find that style and fashion grace if only we are true to ourselves! Love it! Just press play (above) to see why I'm so excited to take a closer look at the legend and her life...

And It's Rosie For M&S...

Launching her Rosie for Autograph lingerie collection model Rosie Huntington Whiteley wore a leather trimmed black peplum dress and two tone cap toe pumps - Talk about a knockout! Of course I couldn't do a Rosie post without including some of the shots from her new collection so here we go folks. Enjoy!

Karlouflage... The Genius New Collection From Mr Karl Lagerfeld...!

Brace yourselves folks... You're gonna want everything!!

For his second collection for the lower priced Karl by Karl Lagerfeld collection (prices do vary but for the most part range between E40 and a E1000) the Kaiser has whipped up an unsurprisingly sophisticated and edgy mix of clothing and accessories which has just hit Netaporter in its glorious entirity...!
Similar to his debut collection for Karl this one offers a feminine twist on the designer’s signature personal style: There are sharp tuxedo jackets, embellished crisp white collars, and, of course, studded leather gloves. The collection is both predictably and predominately black and white but Lagerfeld did include a multi-colored patterned karlouflage dress (see above) which I just love! To get a proper look at the collection head on over to Netaporter where you can "zoom in" to your hearts content!

Thrifty Thursday... The Perfect Sheath Dress...

Good news folks, I've found the fall dress that is not only perfect for any occasion but is also universally flattering — the sheath dress! Oh and did I mention that coming in under $40 its also my bargain du jour or rather the very first of the pieces to grab a spot in my Thrifty Thursday line-up! Oh yeah!

These little numbers have a certain Goldilocks quality — not too short, not too long, not too loose, not too tight — they're always just right. I dare you not to imagine yourself in this baby at work and then wearing it out to drinks after quittin' time!

Ever Wondered What Goofy Would Look Like In Balmain Or Daisy Duck in Dolce & Gabbana For That Matter?

Did you ever think you'd see your favourite Disney characters just ahem, goofing around in designer labels? No? Well neither did I! But the day has come dear readers... Yep, above we have Goofy in Balmain, Minnie in Lanvin and Daisy in Dolce & Gabbana... It's a childs dream and an adults fantasy all rolled into one and its all courtesy of Barneys and The Walt Disney Co. who are collaborating on a holiday campaign that quite frankly has me even more excited than when Gaga took over the store last year!

Come November 14th, the windows of Barney's (on Madison Avenue) will have transformed entirely for the Disney Electric Holiday with Barney's which is set to feature a 3-D light show, a film transforming our favourite Disney characters into fashion heroes (focusing on Minnie Mouse's dream to be part of the Paris fashion shows) and an original score by Michael Giacchino.

The amount of work that has gone into making this happen is off the charts but I can only imagine that the end result will be worth every minute of both the struggle and strife!

Whistles, The Limited Collection... I Want It All...

Scalloped hems, colour blocking, leather... It's no wonder I want it all... The latest from Whistles, a limited edition capsule collection I might add, is bursting with fashion forward must-haves... Even better they're all sold as separates meaning you can mix and match or simply create a modern day power suit of your own... My favourites are the pieces above... Words simply cannot describe... Want, need, love!

Back To The Future... Emma Stone For Interview Magazine...!

Upping her fashion credentials yet again is one of my favourite actresses out there Miss Emma Stone who has just landed the coveted fron cover for Interview magazine! The edgy and futuristic shot sees the Spiderman star swapping her cute girl-next-door look for slicked-back hair, dramatic make-up and tribal jewellery. Inside, in an amazing shoot with fashion photographer Mikael Jansson, Stone looks like a female David Bowie as she strikes a series of '80s-inspired poses. This, believe it or not, is a good thing!

As the star of the moment, Emma is no stranger to major magazine covers and I've put together a couple of my favourite for your viewing pleasure..

Last August, she landed a Vanity Fair cover, which was snapped by legendary photographer Patrick Demarchelier which saw her posing as a '50s-style blonde bombshell in a red and white striped bikini. While earlier this summer, in July to be exact, she showed a more grown-up and seductive side in a Nina Ricci slip dress on the cover of US Vogue which she swiftly followed up with a fun loving photoshoot for New York Magazine in which she chowed down on a load of candyfloss!

There's no denying it, the girls a chameleon! But this latest incarnation – showing that she can do fierce just as well as she can pretty – might be my favourite yet. How about you? Any favourites?

Wobbly Wednesday... Chocolate Biscuit Cake!

Cookies, chocolate, a cake that requires no baking?! Why thats gotta be the best damn cake in the world! And it is folks, it really is! For a chocolate fiend such as myself nothing beats chocolate biscuit cake, its dense (but in a good way) and oh-so-good when served with a steaming cup of coffee...! Although most recipes are pretty darn simple none have turned out a cake quite as delicious as this one...! All you gotta do is try not to eat the ingredients first! Eheh! Oh and if you're more of a traditionalist, like moi, you may want to swap the rich tea biscuits for digestives... Just saying!!

Carine Roitfield For Mac... I'm Beyond Excited, Are You?!

Ok so I always and I mean always look forward to the new and exciting collaborations between beauty brand MAC and the various icons and well legends it chooses to work with. In fact so far I've found it almost imposssible to choose a favourite collaboration – Beth Ditto’s range was mind-blowing, Hello Kitty beyond cute, and the Disney villains? Well that was just beyond fullstop! Anyways when I first heard the news (way back in April) that none other than Carine Roitfeld was to create a collection for the brand, I just couldn't stop smiling. Seriously, what could be better than the queen of the smoky eye treating us to products that'll nail that chic yet ever so slightly gothic look? And the more I see of the collection (see below for your sneak peek) the more I feel I shall have a favourite collaboration come September!

Unsurprisingly, the range includes several of Carines essentials including dark shades, neutral powders and everyday eyeliners. The brightest shade of them all comes in the form of a vampish nail varnish called Underfire Red which is nothing if not Pure-Parisian-Perfection! There are also two full "Face Kits" with colours ranging from soft biscuit tones all the way through to dark chocolate browns. Oh, and there are brushes too - swoon! Of course one of my favourites has to be the set of star stencils which can be used for making tiny "good luck" stars on your face just like beauty marks only better! Oh Carine, you do spoil us!

Just today, a video arrived which not only gives us a sneak preview of what to expect, but includes some rather personal beauty secrets of Lady Roifelds such as this one; Carine loves the tired yet oh-so-sexy look (read; worn out after raunchy romp look!) and actually sleeps in her mascara in order to achieve said look! Also, apply black colour to your eyes with your fingers not a pencil - C’est tres naturellement!! To watch this exclusive video simply click here!

Elbows at the ready girls - the collection is set to hit UK and Irish stores on the 6th September and will no doubt be an instant sell-out!

Pretty In Pink... Elizabeth Olsen For Bullett Magazine Fall 2012

Loving Elizabeth Olsen for Bullett Magazine Fall 2012. Taking the lead in the magazine's special Romance Issue the actress appears on the cover sporting Chanel and one helluva cotton candy do! Aw but thats only the beginning of what is undeniably a feast for the eyes... Within the rising star also models a range of fabulous pieces from designers such as Dior and Alexander McQueen!

Given my obsession with the indie darling you can be sure this is one issue I wont be missing out on...

Could Miley Be Taking Her Style Inspiration From British Model Agyness Deyn...?

First came the shocker that was the new platinum blonde do then came the edgy undercut swiftly followed by a more-punked-up-than-ever wardrobe. But now it seems Miley Cyrus is determined to walk a mile in Agyness Deyns boot and literally too! Although always the edgiest Disney girl of the pack the singer/actress has recently amped up her style to suit her brand new rocker inspired do! In fact she's been seen all over NYC sporting denim cut-offs, an army shirt and lashings of chunky gold jewellery or rather Manchester-born model Agyness Deyns signature ensemble... You gotta admit, the photos (above and below) of the two girls are disturbingly similar...

Then again the similarity could be explained by the fact that Miley is in fact wearing pieces straight from Miss Deyns collection for Dr Martens. The patent boots and heart shaped satchel are actually available online now at www.drmartens.com Despite the above pics looking very, how should I put this, Single-white-female-esque?! Yeah that'll do! Miley isn't the first to follow in the footsteps of the British model. Deyns leather-clad off-duty style has inspired the likes of Madonna's daughter, Lourdes who has said she adores Aggy's effortless aesthetic and is often snapped wearing stud-covered jackets, skinny jeans and Nineties tees.

So what do you think, is Miley channelling the British cool girl and more importantly should she? After all we know she can do rocker chic oh so well when left to her own devices!

Tiddly Tuesday... Apple, Ginger And Cranberry Vodka Cocktails

Let me introduce to you the very first of my Tiddly Tuesday recipes... This is one of my favourite summer cocktails as its so refreshing and just super easy to make... I can't stand those cocktails or hell any other recipes that call for weird things you'd never ever have in your cabinet... I mean maybe one day but for now I say keep it simple folks...

1 cup cloudy apple juice
1 cup cranberry juice
50ml of vodka (or hey maybe more!)
1 cup Ginger Ale (I love the M&S version!)
Ice

Place apple juice, cranberry juice and vodka into the jug of an electric mixer and whizz until pink and frothy.
Pour into a large jug top with 1 cup of ginger ale and a generous serving of ice.
Serve it up and enjoy!

Nicole Richies Collection For Macys... A Sneak Peek...!

Yay! Nicole Richie's collection for Macy’s Impulse is almost here! In anticipation of the all under $150 lineup (yes really!) featuring her signature floaty floral dresses and tailored to perfection separates that epitomize her boho-chic aesthetic, the designer talked to InStyle.com about what style means to her, the influences behind her own personal style and of course the collection itself! Believe me you'll enjoy the sneak peek and finding out just what piece is her favourite in the new collection which by the way you can shop at Macy's (both instore and online) come September 12th...

SkullCandys All New Supermodel Crew...

When it comes to your headphones sound is pretty darn important but even more important than that is what your headphones say about you... Oh yeah...! Lately headphones have become more a fashion accessory than anything, I mean we do have people like Diane Von Furstenburg and Lady Gaga designing them after all! More than ever before people are choosing to make a fashion statement with the shape, colour choice and size of their headphones and mixing and matching those sets that come with different colour ear shells or headbands according to their outfits and superbrand Skullcandy have decided they want in on this, one of the most recent movements in fashion! In order to cement their place in the fashion world the brand has just brought in its first ever supermodel crew! Yep thats right folks Kate Upton, Christy Teigen, Jessica Stam and Chanel Iman have all teamed up with Skullcandy to model their latest and greatest headphones, share their Spotify playlists and generally spread the word on the brand. A bit of a weird one no doubt but I do believe it works!
Suppose we'll be seeing them all in Skullcandy over fashion week?

Get Your Caviar Mani... At Home..!

Clearly 3D textured manicures are having one helluva moment lately but they are, when professionally done, pretty darn expensive... Especially when you consider the impracticality and the fact that they just ain't gonna last that long (no matter how good the manicurist is!) so to get in on the action I sprung for Ciates at home manicure kit which I bought for about $25 in Sephora (U.S) The kits are however now available to us Europeans online at ASOS!!

The one thing to know about me is that I am no beauty junkie! Honestly, whenever I wanted to rock a braid my mother would have to do it for me and that was until I was16 too! Yes I've gotten better but frankly I'm still pretty hopeless! Thats why I loved the Ciate kits, they were just so easy to use! Believe me if I can do it a monkey can... Really...! To get the look you simply have to paint the nails, pour on the caviar beads, press gently and allow to set for fifteen minutes - yeah this one takes some commitment folks - Oh and seal with a topcoat if you'd like the manicure to last that bit longer (which you will because alone it lasts about 48hours!)

While the result is in fact amazing and looks surprisingly professional (yes even from me!) I must warn you; be careful what you eat! I learned the hard way that pizza and caviar manis don't exactly get along! Seriously, get one of those beads in your mouth and you may chip a tooth! Also theres a bit of a snag factor involved here too. These will pull your hair right out of your head if your not careful! Oh but don't let that put you off... Seriously though these look great (if not their very best) when used purely as an accent! I've always loved painting my ring finger a different colour and reserving things like shatter effect polish just for it and the caviar mani looks brilliant when used in the same way, just be sure to pick a complimentary colour! And hey if you're feeling adventurous or perhaps have a steadier hand than moi then why not try a french mani with the beads? There really are no rules, except this one - keep your nails on the shorter side folks, it's far chicer and a lot more expensive looking than a set of beady old claws!

Vogues Designer Balls...!

Ok, so when I first heard about this one I thought "what the...?" But American Vogue has once again proved that they can knock even the strangest of ideas well outta the park... Well American Vogue and 11 of the greatest designers out there that is!
To celebrate the launch of the U.S. Open A. Vogue commissioned 11 designers (including Tory Burch, Peter Som, Maria Sharapova, Fenton, Pamela Love, Erickson Beamon, Warby Parker, Creatures of The Wind, Rag & Bone, Eddie Borgo, Monique Lhuillier and Diane von Furstenberg!) to create 11 customised tennis balls and the end result is nothing less than fantastic! In fact each tennis ball is, in my opinion anyways, worthy of its own display cabinet! Theres no word yet as to
where these babies will end up ie. a charity auction or maybe even a Vogue desktop (Those lucky ducks!) but I can assure you I'll keep you updated...!

So tells me folks, of all the creations above which one is your favourite?

Found; One Amaze-Balls McQueen Lookalike For Ten Euro...!

Question; What do you guys think of when you see the above bracelet?
Obvious Answer; Why Alexander McQueen of course!
Well what if I told you that the above is actually my brand new bracelet from Topshop that cost me all of ten euro? Yeah I thought so... Run to Toppers people... Run...!

Closet Confidential...!

And the latest addition to my wardrobe...

I kid you not folks... Kers has finally gotten her hands on some designer goodies, Prada to be exact! Yep I've officially broken the bank but these delicious wine coloured zip back lace up platform booties were simply too good to resist... Being one hundred percent honest with you here guys, they don't have much shelf appeal but once you put these babies on theres no going back... They're stunning... And so so comfortable... Its amazing there really is a huge difference in terms of comfort when you shell out for a pair of designer heels... Not that I'll be doing that too often (sob!)
To get your hands on a pair simply pop into Brown Thomas or order online at Neiman Marcus!
Oh and thank you for indulging me in my five second flaunt... With a bit of luck I may one day be flaunting these babies as well... Any colourway will do... Any!

You've Been Served...!

I've been not-so-patiently waiting for someone to rock this amazing laser cut red leather dress from Valentino but why oh why did it have to be Maria Sharapova? It's simply beyond unfair. How can a gal be that talented on the court and the red carpet? Not to mention stunning... The tennis ace just has this quality about her that makes all us minions out there want to curl up and die... Or perhaps thats just me? I've been told I'm a bit of an extremist... Ahem...!
Sharapova wore the dress paired with a Tag Heuer watch and Monolo Blahnik pumps while celebrating her Hamptons magazine cover at the Sanctuary Hotel in New York...

Katy Perrys Fiery Transformation...

This is one girl who has been looking better than ever recently (remember that campaign for GHD I featured here just a while ago?) and having gone fiery red for the cover of L'officiel I do believe the singer may have surpassed herself! In fact I had to do me one serious double take in order to make sure this redhead really was Katy...
I do love me a redhead so yes I'm biased but this along with the gorgeous Louis Vuitton ensemble is one truly powerful look... One that I would love to see her sporting more often!

Crazy, Stupid, Love Emma Stone Without Make-Up...!

How amazingly different does Miss Emma Stone look without make-up? The difference is incredible am I right? Seems all those celebs who actually want to dodge the paps should ditch the baseball caps and beards, take a leaf out of Emmas book and leave the house completely sans make-up... No foundation, no mascara, no lipgloss, nothing!

The actress's fresh-faced look while out grabbing sushi is what Hollywood would call sinful but you know what? I think she looks stunning... In fact I'm jealous... And may I just ask what the bloody hell does she wear all the make-up for anyways? Certainly I'm a fan of her uber glam red carpet moments but clearly she doesn't need even one ounce of make-up!

Methinks the actress should be applauded for stepping out au naturel... Yes it is indeed a sad state of affairs when we feel the need to applaud a woman for such a thing but lets face it Hollywood aint normal, both the pressure and the standards are enormous and almost beyond reach but Miss Stone has stood firm and decided not to bow down to the demands of a society gone insane... You gotta admit slapping on the make up in order to nip to wholefoods is a bit extreme!

Love this and love her even more now too!

Domino Effect...

Can we just talk about this bag for a minute? And yes it is a bag folks... In fact its the latest in a whole array of playful clutches from the one and only Charlotte Olympia!

The British designer is dedicated to thinking outside of the box and this right here is a testament to both that and her incredible design talent... It is after all hard to keep something so very playful so very chic!

Crafted from cream perspex and finished with shimmering black Swarovski crystals, this "Domino Pandora" clutch is the very epitomy of the designers unparalleled aesthetic. Simply set it against your favorite dress to make a winning statement.

Natalie Portman Goes Nude For Charity...!

It was only a few days ago that I was drooling over Natalie Portman and her super-hot bod in the brand new campaign for the Diorskin Nude Skin Collection - shot by Mario Sorrenti - which includes a neutral palette of foundations, lip and nail shades all promising a natural, radiant look. And today, as part of Keris Feel-Good-Friday I'm sharing that picture with you guys as well as the news that Portman will actually be releasing her very own lipcolour in association with Dior and the Free The Children Association (FTCA)

The actress who is an extremely vocal ambassador of the FTCA - a charity which was set up in 1995 by Canadian activist Craig Kielburger, to help children confronted with poverty and exploitation and to free them of the notion that they are helpless - created the brand new shade of Rouge Nude Lipcolor, ‘Grège #169’ especially for the organisation and it has just been announced that all of the proceeds will go to support a study grant fund for secondary education of girls in Kenya.

"I chose the color Grège because it’s the one I’d pick to wear myself," stated Portman adding that "The number contains different dates that are important to me and my family."

Diorskin Nude is available exclusively at Selfridges from the 31st of August and nationwide from the 14th of September. So go on, do your bit for charity and rest assured that you look great while doing it too...! Win Win!
